Brooks Sizing Chart
Footwear, apparel, run bras and gear measurements in one place. Sizes are shown in US unless a column says otherwise, so you can order your usual size with confidence.
Women's Footwear
Road, trail and racing shoes share the same women's last. Brooks recommends ordering running shoes a half to one full size larger than your everyday dress shoe, leaving about a thumb's width of space ahead of your longest toe.

Men's & Unisex Footwear
Unisex styles follow men's sizing by industry standard. To switch between the two, take your women's size and subtract 1.5 to reach the men's equivalent — a women's 8.5 is a men's 7.

Shoe Width
Most styles are built on a Medium last, with a Wide option for a roomier forefoot at the same length. Width is selected on the product page, so match the letter to the fit you need rather than going up a size.
| Width | All-Gender | Men's | Women's |
|---|---|---|---|
| Narrow | B | B | 2A |
| Medium | D | D | B |
| Wide | 2E | 2E | D |
| Extra Wide | 4E | 4E | 2E |
- Medium is the standard fit on most styles
- Wide adds girth at the same length
- Width is a separate option from size
Women's Apparel
Body measurements for tops, bottoms, tights and jackets. Most pieces are semi-fitted; tights and base layers are fitted, so size to the fit you prefer. Inseam stays the same across sizes for a given style.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| XS (0–2) | 30.5–32.5 | 24–26 | 33.5–35.5 | 31 |

Length options: petite inner leg is 29″ and tall inner leg is 33″, with 31″ as the regular length.
Men's Apparel
Body measurements for tees, singlets, shorts, tights and jackets. If you sit between two sizes, use your chest measurement first — it drives the fit of most tops.
| Size | Chest | Waist | Inner Leg |
|---|---|---|---|
| XS | 33–35 | 28–30 | 32 |
| S | 35–37 | 30–32 | 32 |
| M | 37–39 | 31.5–33.5 | 32 |
| L | 40–42 | 34.5–36.5 | 32 |
| XL | 43–45 | 37.5–40 | 32 |
| XXL | 46–49 | 41–44 | 32 |
Length options: short inner leg is 30″ and tall inner leg is 34″, with 32″ as the regular length.
Run Bras
Bra sizing is expressed as a band range plus a cup grouping (“AB” or “CD”), then mapped to letters. If you sit between two sizes, round up to the larger one.

How to Measure Your Foot
Measure both feet and work from the larger one. It is simplest to do this late in the day, when your feet are at their fullest.
-
Trace your foot
Stand with your heel against a wall on a sheet of paper and trace the outline of your foot.
-
Mark the length
Measure from the back of your heel to the tip of your longest toe, then add about a thumb's width of space for running.
-
Measure the girth
Wrap the tape around the widest part across the ball of your foot to gauge the width you need.
-
Match your size
Compare your length to the table, then confirm the width letter. Repeat for the other foot.
Length runs heel to longest toe; width is measured across the ball of the foot.
Getting the Fit Right
A few rules of thumb that hold true across most running footwear and apparel.
It is common to take running shoes a half to one full size larger than your everyday dress shoe, so your feet have room to expand on the run.
Choose the Wide or Extra Wide last rather than sizing up — adding length to gain girth can cause heel slip and a loose ride.
For footwear, round up for toe room. For apparel, use your chest or waist measurement and pick the fit you prefer.
Feet swell through the day, so measure in the late afternoon and always use the larger of your two feet.
Tights and base layers are built to be fitted and stretch with you, while woven tops and jackets have more room. Structured pieces move less.
Unisex styles follow men's sizing. Subtract 1.5 from a women's size to find the men's equivalent — women's 8.5 equals men's 7.
Measurements are provided as a guide. Fit can vary slightly by style, so check the product page for model-specific notes.
